‘Chairs for Abu Dhabi’ stacks up at Abu Dhabi Art

It took a whole week and hundreds of chairs to build this Tadashi Kawamata installation in Manarat al Saadiyat. ‘Chairs for Abu Dhabi’ will greet visitors as they enter Abu Dhabi Art (November 7-10).

Stacked layers of hundreds of chairs form this six metre-high edifice, which is part of the fair’s BEYOND section and is sure to be an event talking point.

Kawamata – one of Japan’s most noted artists - produces wood installations in-situ.
