Winter celebrations at Tal Moreeb in Liwa

Visitors can experience traditional music, authentic culture and high-octane thrills at Liwa Festival and Liwa Village.
Liwa’s biggest ever winter season schedule is taking place from 8–31 December 2023, with back-to-back entertainment, thrills and enriching moments.

Liwa Festival is back

Enjoy seasonal celebrations surrounding the epic Tal Moreeb – one of the world’s tallest sand dunes, rising to 300 metres. At the heart of the festivities, expect hundreds of 4x4s, RVs, dune buggies and other vehicles to amass at the iconic site, as part of the winter experience.

Monster Jam

The world’s most action-packed motorsport experience is coming to Liwa 27-28 December! Motorsport fans and families will be in for a high-octane experience when 5-ton trucks defy the laws of physics as they go head-to-head on a series of different competitions including racing, freestyle and skills contests. And as if backflipping trucks weren’t enough, the event will also feature world-class freestyle motocross performances ensuring jaw-dropping stunts.

In addition to the epic action, fans will have access to the Monster Jam Pit Party, an unmissable opportunity to get up close to the huge vehicles, meet and greet the drivers and get the lowdown on how the powerful trucks are prepared for competition.

Liwa Village expands

Explore a huge range of attractions and events, with a main stage for concerts and celebrations, an array of dining options, an artisanal souk, a tranquil oasis area for creative workshops and families, a play zone area for kids, and a host of local vendors offering the very best homegrown goods.

Brand new experiences

It’s so easy to access all the new sites and attractions with roads and parking improved for 2023. Witness high-resolution light projections on sand dunes, a new 3,000sqm smart farm area, as well as a wide range of new sports facilities, including padel, volleyball and football.

Added camping experiences

Extend your stay in an authentic desert dwelling, with up to 1,400 new Bedouin and safari-style tents. Or, glamp it up in 40sqm air-conditioned pods, perfect for stargazing. Recreational vehicles (RVs) are also welcome, with a dedicated site for campervans, trailers and more.
