Fourth Abu Dhabi International Conference on Manuscripts

The Abu Dhabi International Conference on Manuscripts returns for its fourth edition, bringing together leading scholars and experts from around the world to explore the theme “Visual Arts in Arabic and Islamic Manuscripts: Artistic Heritage and Contemporary Influence.

This academic gathering provides a platform for dialogue across disciplines including art history, Islamic and Arabic manuscript studies, cultural preservation, and digital humanities. Participants will delve into the aesthetic and cultural significance of Arabic and Islamic manuscripts, while also examining their impact on contemporary art and creative expression.

The conference welcomes papers that engage with its core themes as well as related topics, with accepted contributions considered for inclusion in a formally published volume of proceedings—further strengthening the exchange of knowledge in this field.

Organised in collaboration with McGill University, Canada, the event is hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).
